Anemo Sword

Kaedehara Kazuha

Scarlet Leaves Pursue Wild Waves

TierA
RolesSupport
Release1.6

The wandering samurai is a quick-swap Anemo support: he pulls enemies together, shreds RES with Viridescent Venerer and gives the party a DMG Bonus for every element he Swirls, based on his Elemental Mastery. Lunar and Stellar teams don't use DMG% bonuses, so he has lost ground, but he remains excellent for Hydro, Pyro, Cryo and Electro carries and whenever grouping matters.

Stat targets

  • Elemental Mastery 800–1,000: every 100 EM is +4% party DMG for the swirled element
  • Energy Recharge: none if you skip his Burst; ~170–200% if he must Burst every rotation as the only Anemo unit (15–25% less with a Favonius proc)
  • ER sands with Iron Sting or other non-ER swords

Talent priority

Elemental Burst
Elemental Skill

His talents only raise his personal damage, which is minor: his Swirls and buffs matter far more. Level 90 is worth it since Swirl damage scales with character level.

Teams

Recommended teams

Neuvillette hypercarry

Kazuha groups enemies into Neuvillette's beam and adds Hydro DMG%; Xilonen shreds RES and heals.

Arlecchino Melt

Especially good with Freedom-Sworn. Swirl Pyro before Citlali's Cryo arrives.

Mualani Vaporize

Mualani
Kaedehara Kazuha
Mona
Durin

Durin supplies Pyro for Vaporize, Kazuha buffs Hydro and shreds its RES, Mona adds more DMG.

Guide

How to play

How he works

  • Chihayaburu (Skill) pulls in nearby enemies and objects, launches them and lifts Kazuha into the air. Tap can be used mid-air (6s cooldown); Hold hits a larger area (9s cooldown).
  • The following Midare Ranzan plunge deals Anemo DMG and creates a small wind tunnel. With Soumon Swordsmanship (A1), it absorbs the element touched by his Skill and adds 200% ATK of that element.
  • Poetics of Fuubutsu (A4): after a Swirl or Stellar Swirl, the party gains 0.04% DMG Bonus per point of his EM for the swirled element, for 8s (about +40% at 1,000 EM). Different elements can coexist.
  • Kazuha Slash (Burst) leaves an Autumn Whirlwind that deals Anemo DMG and absorbs Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro.

Rotation

  1. Apply the element you want to buff first (your off-field Hydro, Pyro, Cryo…).
  2. Swap to Kazuha: tap E, then plunge to Swirl it (VV shred + A4 buff). Use hold E for a wider pull.
  3. Only use Q if it helps (C2, Neuvillette teams): it can absorb the wrong element.
  4. Swap to your carry.

In Melt teams, play him before Citlali so he swirls Pyro; in Freeze teams, his plunge can shatter Frozen enemies.

Strengths

  • Best-in-class grouping, great for multi-wave and AoE content
  • Big party DMG% buff plus 40% RES shred for Hydro, Pyro, Cryo and Electro carries
  • Very short field time, and his A4 now also triggers on Stellar Swirl
  • Easy build: Elemental Mastery everywhere

Weaknesses

  • Lunar and Stellar teams ignore DMG% bonuses, so Sucrose often beats him there
  • Current endgame rarely rewards grouping as much as it used to
  • His Burst is costly and can absorb the wrong element
  • Constellations add little except C2

Notable dupes · Constellation

C1
Optional

Burst resets his Skill cooldown: rarely matters, Sacrificial Sword does something similar.

C2
Big upgrade

+200 EM for Kazuha and the active character in his Burst field: a big buff and the usual stopping point.

C6
Solid upgrade

Anemo infusion and EM-scaling attacks turn him into an on-field carry, though not a top one.
