The People of the Springs' favourite guide surfs into battle on Sharky, her shark-shaped board. She is an HP-scaling Hydro carry whose damage is packed into a few huge Sharky's Surging Bites, and she is at her best in Vaporize teams, where each of those bites can double in size. Easy to play and free of Energy worries, she is still one of the strongest Hydro main DPS in 7.1.

How to play

How she works

  • Surfshark Wavebreaker (Skill) gives her 60 Nightsoul points and puts her in Nightsoul's Blessing on Sharky. Her Normal Attacks become Sharky's Bites (Hydro DMG based on Max HP, counted as Normal Attack DMG).
  • Touching enemies while surfing applies Marked as Prey and grants Wave Momentum (max 3). At 3 stacks, her next bite becomes a Sharky's Surging Bite and fires Shark Missiles at every marked enemy (up to 5).
  • Heat-Resistant Freshwater Floater: each Surging Bite drops a Puffer; picking it up restores 20 Nightsoul points (twice per Blessing), which buys you extra bites.
  • Boomsharka-laka (Burst) fires a tracking missile. Natlan's Greatest Guide adds 15% of her Max HP per stack of Wavechaser's Exploits, gained when teammates trigger a Nightsoul Burst (max 3).

Rotation

  1. Set up your supports: Xilonen (E + two Normal Attacks), off-field Pyro (Xiangling or Mavuika), then Furina or Sucrose.
  2. Swap to Mualani, press E and surf through the enemies to stack Wave Momentum.
  3. Fire a Surging Bite at 3 stacks, grab the Puffer, and repeat: about three Surging Bites per Blessing at C0 (C2 adds more, especially against groups).
  4. End with Q once you have Wavechaser's Exploits stacks, then rotate out.

Make sure an enemy is affected by Pyro before each Surging Bite: Vaporize also refreshes the stacks of her signature weapon, Surf's Up.

Strengths

  • Huge Vaporize hits and good AoE thanks to her Shark Missiles
  • No Energy Recharge needed and a very simple rotation
  • Only needs HP and CRIT, and Obsidian Codex covers most of her CRIT Rate
  • Fast and fun to move around with, on land and on water

Weaknesses

  • Needs reliable off-field Pyro to Vaporize, which takes up a team slot
  • Damage is front-loaded in a few hits, so a missed bite costs a lot
  • Bites lose power when they hit several enemies at once (down to 72%)
  • Her Normal Attack playstyle does not suit enemies that fly or keep teleporting

Starts each Blessing with 2 Wave Momentum stacks and restores extra Nightsoul points: more Surging Bites per rotation. The best stopping point.

Solid upgrade

The C1 bonus applies to every Surging Bite: a big boost, but only for heavy investors.
