Cosmic Expression is Griseo's A-rank SD-type Physical battlesuit, a Bleed specialist who plants a Beacon with her cross and calls meteors down on it. Her Special Weapon Skill and Ultimate stack Bleed buffs, dye enemies and restore SP, which makes her the best support for the Part 1 Bleed dealers: Lunar Vow: Crimson Love (in her classic, non-Astral Ring form) and Valkyrie Quicksand. She has no Astral Ring, so in v9.0 she is limited to Part 1 Bleed teams and the Memorial Arena, but she is also the only farmable SD-type battlesuit for new players.

2pRebel's Gun set. Every 6 hits from the wearer or her summons extend Hunter Mark (applied by the B piece) by 2s, up to 12s; marked enemies take 21% more Elemental DMG.
3pThe wearer's Ultimate and summons deal 25% more Total DMG; while her summons are on the field, the team deals 25% more Ice DMG to marked enemies.
2pDepicter Impression set. Every 10 Bleed DMG instances trigger a 500% ATK Physical hit that counts as Bleed DMG (CD: 5s); on Starry Impression with the B piece, her Ultimate marks all enemies, who then take 36% more Total DMG for 12s when the mark ends (CD: 20s).
3pATK Speed +35%; after an Ultimate, Total DMG against unshielded or shield-broken enemies rises by 2% per Bleed stack on them (up to 10%) for 20s.

Advice for new players (Marisa Impact): farm Valkyrie Blastmetal first, since she fits any Astral Ring team; once you reach level 80+, SD-type enemies appear in the Abyss, and Cosmic Expression is the only farmable SD-type battlesuit to counter them and gather SD shards.

Herrscher of Rebirth or Herrscher of Sentience provide Impair (DEF reduction); since Bleed DMG cannot crit, they gain about 20% more damage with Susannah: Outing (T) and Aladdin (M, B) than with their signature stigmata (Marisa Impact).

When fully geared she was a decent DPS against SD-type and Bleed content. She uses the same Impair (DEF reduction) supports and stigmata advice as Valkyrie Quicksand (Marisa Impact).

Guide

How to play

Core loop

  • Deploying her cross (Weapon) or her QTE creates a Beacon that tracks the targeted enemy. While a Beacon exists, Basic ATK and Combo ATK restore Internal Energy (max 300, starts full).
  • At full Internal Energy, tap Weapon for her Special Weapon Skill: meteors strike around the Beacon after 2s (700% ATK, counts as Bleed DMG) and immobilize enemies; it inflicts Bleed Trauma and makes enemies take 15% more Bleed DMG for 20s.
  • Within 1s of the Special Weapon Skill, tap Ultimate: she cuts the meteor with her laser saber (1,000% + 10 × 70% ATK, Bleed DMG), inflicts Bleed Trauma on every enemy, raises the team's Bleed stack cap by 4 and makes enemies take 10% more Physical and Lightning DMG.
  • Combo ATK: tap ATK during Basic ATK SEQ 4 or her QTE (restores 160 Internal Energy). Hold Evade to parry with the laser saber.
  • Creating a Beacon or casting her Ultimate dyes all enemies: Bleed DMG from Bleed Trauma then counts as coming from the last character who dyed them.

As a support

  • Leader skill: the team deals 22% more Bleed DMG (28% from S rank) and starts with bonus SP.
  • After her Ultimate, teammates who switch in regenerate SP, and her QTE (triggered by Time Slow or Bleed) restores 6 SP to the whole team.
  • Against SD-type enemies, a fully stacked Special Weapon Skill triggers Stardust Deconstruction (5 Stardust Remnants).

Marisa Impact's Elysian Realm tips: evade, then keep pressing ATK until the Ultimate button flashes and press it; a normal evasion triggers her evasion skill there. Her Combo ATK redeploys the cross regardless of cooldown, so you rarely need to press Weapon in that playstyle.

Strengths

  • The best support for Part 1 Bleed dealers (classic Lunar Vow: Crimson Love, Valkyrie Quicksand): Bleed buffs, vulnerabilities and dyeing.
  • Farmable: Asterite Shop and Open World task, and the only farmable SD-type battlesuit to counter SD enemies.
  • SP support for the whole team (QTE, post-Ultimate regen, leader skill).
  • Still seen in the Memorial Arena and in Part 1 Bleed teams (100 support picks in the v8.5 CN top 100).

Weaknesses

  • No Astral Ring: she does not fit Part 2 Astral Ring teams.
  • Most of her damage is Bleed DMG, which cannot crit and does not count as Melee or Ranged DMG.
  • Her best support effects need S rank (+45% Total DMG after the Special Weapon Skill, stronger leader skill, starting SP).
  • Her signature equipment comes from Focused Supplies (the base cross is now in Reserve Works).
