Genshin Impact 7.2 "Hour of Ruin" is live: 600 Primogems compensation, two Archon Quest acts, Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater line-ups
Version 7.2 "Hour of Ruin" went live after the maintenance of November 4, 2026 from 06:00 (UTC+8), i.e. November 3 at 23:00 Paris time. HoYoverse published the official "Hour of Ruin" Version 7.2 Update Details. Here are the points that matter for players.

New characters
- "Rules Set at Naught" Mitya (5★ Electro, Catalyst, Stellar Linchpin: Electro): an Electro DPS who lets the party trigger Stellar-Conduct and deals Stellar-Conduct reaction DMG in several ways. With Mitya in the party, the Polestar Field follows the active character in real time.
- "Fort Fulguration" Valeriy (4★ Electro, Sword): commander of the Special Assignments Battalion, a support who provides Electro-related buffs and shields.
- New event-exclusive 5★ Catalyst Starsealed Edict (CRIT DMG, Elemental Mastery after an Elemental Skill, extra Stellar-Conduct CRIT DMG; works off-field).

New areas and story
- Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak open in Snezhnaya. Completing "Gunfire in the Silent Lands" (Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act I) auto-unlocks a Teleport Waypoint northeast of Fellfrost Peak (with its Primogem reward) and a new railroad map.
- After the "An Ancient Song of Flowing Crystal and Stone Chests" quest chain, the Shadow Realm east of Wingspan Peak recedes: explore it with any party.
- Two new Meeting Points: Teplo Oasis and Royal Railway Transport Bureau, each with a Meeting Point Chronicle quest.
- Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act V "Hour of Ruin" and Act VI "A Yesterday Sent From Beyond" (Adventure Rank 18, permanent, Focused Experience Mode available).
- New World Quests: "Dark Clouds in a Wine Bottle", "Borrowing a Gold Coin From a Portrait" and more.
- Secret Tsarist Assignment: Part II (wind glider and recipe), two new shotguns and three new Edge of Survival stages in the third-person shooter gameplay.
New enemies
- Wavebinder (Novokitezhgrad): a Volkodlak that drinks hot beverages to fill its Courage, then enters a Valiant state with much higher Elemental and Physical RES. Electro DMG (including Electro DMG counted as Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG) drains its Courage, and Stellar Glimmer reactions disrupt its drinking: bring Electro.
- Icebound Reflection (Mindless Iceborn): loses its Cryo immunity and innate Cryo status when hit by a Stellar Glimmer reaction.
- Aberrant Chimeric Monsters Chimeric Skorp and Chimeric Crocohoof.

Other changes
- Genius Invokation TCG: new character card Varka, six action cards, "The Forge Realm's Temper: Endless Swarm".
- Envisaged Echoes: new stages and Echo cosmetics for Xilonen and Yae Miko.
- Specialty dishes: Mitya's "Energy-Replenishing Meal", Valeriy's "Emergency Barricade". New namecards, achievements, wildlife and three Local Legends ("Crystalline Frost" avatar frame).
- The Parametric Transformer now accepts materials added from Luna IV to 7.2.
- Quality of life: Specialty Tracking priority, "Only Friends" Prime Ice Constructs, enemy details on Ley Line Outcrops (see our Paimon's update notes post), Pale Crown Palace station unlocked earlier, DualSense adaptive triggers for firearms.
- Miliastra Wonderland: new cosmetic sets and a new Lobby theme.
Tip
The Phase 1 Spiral Abyss (from November 16) and the Phase 2 Blessing both reward Stellar-Conduct: a good time to build Mitya, Valeriy or another Electro + Cryo team.
