The Feiyun Commerce Guild's bookish young master is one of the best off-field Hydro appliers in the game. During his Burst, every Normal Attack of your active character triggers a rain of Hydro swords, while his Rain Swords reduce damage taken, heal and add interruption resistance. He remains a staple of Vaporize, Hyperbloom and Freeze teams.

  • Energy Recharge at C6: 130–150% (Sacrificial), 150–180% (Favonius), 180–220% (others)

With Raiden, his Energy Recharge target drops to about 180–185% (140–145% at C6). His Skill level mostly matters for its damage; his Burst carries most of his output, so level it first.

Teams

Recommended teams

Hu Tao Double Hydro

Xingqiu and Yelan let Hu Tao Vaporize nearly every Charged Attack, Zhongli shields and shreds RES.

Lauma Hyperbloom

Prydwen's reference Hyperbloom team: Xingqiu and Yelan make Dendro Cores with Lauma, Kuki detonates them and heals.

Raiden National

Raiden's Energy restoration lowers Xingqiu's ER needs, and her fast attacks trigger sword rain constantly.

Guide

How to play

How he works

  • Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen (Skill) deals two Hydro hits and surrounds the active character with Rain Swords that reduce DMG taken and increase interruption resistance. Hydropathic heals the active character for 6% of his Max HP whenever a sword breaks or expires.
  • Guhua Sword: Raincutter (Burst, 80 Energy) triggers sword rain on your active character's Normal Attacks for 15s (18s at C2), applying Hydro constantly.
  • At C6, every third sword rain is much stronger and restores 3 Energy, which drastically lowers his Energy needs.

Rotation

  1. E, then Q (from C4, cast Q first so his Skill deals +50% DMG). Dash-cancel his Skill to save time.
  2. Swap to a character who uses Normal Attacks: sword rain only triggers on the active character's Normal Attacks.
  3. With Sacrificial Sword, recast E when it resets for extra particles.

Sword rain has an internal cooldown: fast attackers like Hu Tao, Yoimiya or Raiden get the most out of it.

Strengths

  • Consistent, long-lasting off-field Hydro application
  • Damage reduction, healing and interruption resistance for the active character
  • Strong personal damage for a 4-star when built with CRIT
  • Fits Vaporize, Hyperbloom, Electro-Charged and Freeze

Weaknesses

  • High Energy needs before C6 or without a refined Sacrificial Sword
  • Sword rain requires the active character to use Normal Attacks
  • No team buffs, unlike Yelan or Furina
  • Sword rain applies Hydro on almost every Normal Attack, which can disrupt some reaction setups

Notable dupes · Constellation

C1
Optional

One more Rain Sword: slightly more damage reduction and healing.

C2
Solid upgrade

+3s Burst duration and 15% Hydro RES shred: his second-best constellation.

C3
Solid upgrade

+3 Burst levels: a clear damage increase.

C6
Big upgrade

A much stronger third sword rain that also restores 3 Energy: by far his best constellation.
