Lan Yan

Spring Woven From Jade

TierA
RolesShielder · Support
Release5.3

Liyue's graceful rattan-weaver is a fast, flexible Anemo support. Her Skill dashes in, raises an ATK-scaling shield that converts to the element it touches, and throws Feathermoon Rings that swirl nearby auras. With Viridescent Venerer she brings RES shred and comfort in a very short field time, which makes her an easy fit in most teams that need both.

Teams

Recommended teams

Clorinde Aggravate

Lan Yan swirls Electro for Viridescent Venerer shred and shields Clorinde, whose Bond of Life play is safer behind it.

Arlecchino Vaporize

Pyro shred and a shield for Arlecchino in a short rotation.

Neuvillette hypercarry

Hydro shred, grouping and interruption protection for Neuvillette's Charged Attack (C6 or Sacrificial Fragments recommended).

Guide

How to play

How she works

  • Swallow-Wisp Pinion Dance (Skill) creates a Swallow-Wisp Shield based on her ATK (250% efficiency against Anemo), dashes forward and bounces back into the air. Pressing Skill or Normal Attack in mid-air throws Feathermoon Rings that bounce between enemies for Anemo DMG.
  • Four Sealing Divination Charms (A1): if the dash hits Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro, the shield absorbs that element (250% efficiency against it) and the Rings deal an extra 50% of their damage as that element.
  • Skyfeather Evil-Subduing Charm (A4): her Skill and Burst gain damage equal to 309% and 774% of her Elemental Mastery.
  • Lustrous Moonrise (Burst) pulls enemies together and deals several instances of AoE Anemo DMG: great grouping, and a second chance to swirl for Viridescent Venerer.

Rotation

  1. Let your off-field units apply their element first.
  2. Lan Yan E into an aura-affected enemy, then throw the Rings.
  3. Q when available, then swap to your carry.

Aim the dash at an enemy that already has an element on it: the shield converts and her Rings swirl properly.

Strengths

  • Shield, grouping and Viridescent Venerer shred in one short field time
  • Her shield converts to the element it touches
  • Enables shield-conditional weapons such as Calamity of Eshu
  • 4-star that works with almost any Pyro, Hydro, Electro or Cryo carry

Weaknesses

  • Her shield is far weaker than a dedicated shielder like Zhongli
  • Very high Energy Recharge needs for her Burst
  • No healing and little buffing besides Viridescent Venerer
  • Her Skill needs a well-aimed dash to convert
