The Akademiya's Scribe is an on-field Dendro swordsman whose Chisel-Light Mirrors turn every Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack into extra Dendro Projection Attacks. He scales with both Elemental Mastery and CRIT, and shines in Quicken (Spread) and Quickbloom teams. The Dendro meta has shifted towards Lunar-Bloom, but he remains an easy-to-play, reliable carry, and Lauma is now his best partner.

Teams

Recommended teams

Alhaitham Quickbloom

Lauma is his best support: RES shred and big buffs to Dendro reactions. Furina buffs DMG and Kuki Shinobu heals and triggers Hyperbloom.

Quickbloom with Nahida

The classic version: Nahida shares EM and Yelan adds Hydro and a DMG buff.

Spread

Yae Miko's off-field Electro keeps Quicken up, and Zhongli's shield prevents interruptions.

Guide

How to play

How he works

  • Universality: An Elaboration on Form (Skill, 18s CD) rushes forward and creates Chisel-Light Mirrors (2 if he had none). While he has Mirrors, his Normal, Charged and Plunging Attacks deal Dendro DMG (this infusion cannot be overridden) and trigger Projection Attacks whose damage grows with the number of Mirrors, up to 3. Mirrors fade one by one and all disappear when he leaves the field.
  • Four-Causal Correction: a Charged or Plunging Attack hit generates 1 Mirror (once every 12s).
  • Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena (Burst, 70 Energy) consumes Mirrors for extra hits, then gives back 3/2/1/0 Mirrors 2s later if it consumed 0/1/2/3.
  • Mysteries Laid Bare: each point of EM adds 0.1% DMG to Projection Attacks and his Burst (up to +100% at 1,000 EM).

Rotation

  1. Set up your supports (Lauma or Nahida, then your Hydro/Electro units).
  2. Swap to Alhaitham, E for 2 Mirrors, then a Charged Attack for the third.
  3. Attack with Normal Attack strings to fire Projection Attacks, and recast E as soon as it is ready to keep 3 Mirrors.
  4. Use Q when you are out of Mirrors (it refunds all 3) or at the end of his field time.

Keep him on the field: swapping out deletes his Mirrors. A short dash cancel after the E rush keeps the combo tight.

Strengths

  • Simple, fluid on-field playstyle with an uninterruptible Dendro infusion
  • Scales with both EM and CRIT, so artifacts are forgiving
  • Works in Spread, Quickbloom, Hyperbloom and Burgeon teams
  • Strong AoE thanks to Projection Attacks

Weaknesses

  • Outclassed by newer Dendro carries such as Nefer
  • Wants a lot of field time and loses his Mirrors when swapping out
  • His best teams rely on other 5-stars (Lauma or Nahida, Furina)
