Piper
Truck driver of the Sons of Calydon
Piper Wheel is an A-Rank Physical Anomaly Agent who spins her giant axe to pile up Assault and Disorders in short bursts. Her Power stacks boost her Physical Anomaly Buildup by up to 80%, and at 20 stacks she gives the whole squad +18% DMG. Prydwen calls her the best A-Rank DPS in the game and ranks her T1 (at M6): she's cheap to build and still sees real use in Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault with Velina, Vivian or Yuzuha. Game8 is more reserved (Tier 2).

She doesn't need high skill levels to perform: Core Skill and Special Attack first, the rest can wait.
Recommended teams
Velina & Remielle
Piper's most used team in both Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault. Velina has no trouble with Disorder management: the more Anomalies Piper inflicts, the more Vortexes she triggers. Remielle adds huge buffs. Bangboo: Magnetiboo (1+ Anomaly Agent).
Vivian & Yuzuha
Game8's premium team: Piper triggers two of Vivian's Ablooms per EX, and Yuzuha is Physical, the ideal Anomaly buffer. Bangboo: Robin (Vivian is a Mockingbird, so Anomaly Agents get bonus Buildup).
How to play
Power
- Every hit of EX Special Attack: Engine Spin or her Ultimate gives 1 stack of Power (max 20, 12s): +4% Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate each, so up to +80%.
- Additional Ability (another Anomaly Agent, or a teammate sharing her Physical attribute or Sons of Calydon faction): at 20+ Power, all squad members deal +18% DMG. Almost all of her teams activate it.
Engine Spin
- Her regular Special is weak: never use it on its own.
- Basic 1 → 2 → 3 → EX Special: after the 3rd hit (or a Dash Attack / Dodge Counter), the spin starts at max charge, skipping the ~2s wind-up.
- Engine Spin drains Energy for up to 3s, then Really Heavy (a big slam) comes out automatically when time runs out or Energy drops to 20. Swap out during the slam: it usually ends her combo.
- While spinning she takes 40% less DMG and resists interrupts; she's invulnerable during the slams.
With Vivian or Velina
- With Vivian, don't spin long: tap the EX after Basic 3. Both the spin start and Really Heavy trigger Vivian's Abloom, so Piper can fire two Ablooms for only 20 Energy.
- With Velina, go all in on fast buildup: every Anomaly she inflicts feeds Velina's Vortexes.
- Use her Ultimate in Stuns and Chain Attacks for Decibels: Ultimates ignore the Anomaly cooldown between procs.
Strengths
- Very accessible, with remarkable damage for an A-Rank in the right teams.
- Cheap to invest in, with strong free and premium W-Engine options.
- Easy to play at a baseline, with room to optimize.
- +18% DMG for the whole squad at 20 Power, easy to activate in almost any team.
Weaknesses
- Much of her potential is locked behind Alice's signature and premium teammates (Velina, Vivian, Yuzuha).
- Big performance drop in her alternative teams.
- Long channeled spins can leave her exposed.
- Competes with Jane and Alice for the same teammates.
Notable dupes · Mindscape Cinema
Spinning slashes have a 50% chance to give an extra Power stack, and the cap rises to 30 (up to +120% Buildup Rate).
She moves faster while spinning, and her slams deal +10% Physical DMG plus 1% per Power stack: +30% at 20 stacks, +40% with M1's 30.
+20 Energy when a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly (once every 30s).
Engine Spin lasts 2s longer and Power lasts 4s longer. Prydwen's T1 rating assumes M6.
