Imaginary
Nihility
Welt
Seasoned Member of the Express Crew
Welt is an Imaginary Nihility character transformed by his 4.2 Novaflare enhancement. His Ultimate Imprisons every enemy and applies Weightless for 2 turns: −40% DEF, an extra action delay on every hit, and up to +100% DMG for allies who attack them. This standard 5★ works as a debuffer, a delay-based pseudo-sustain or a main DPS, and he is the key enabler of Himeko • Nova's Decimation state.

Main stats
Substat priority
Stat targets
- Effect Hit Rate: 70–80%+ (80% for the full Punishment bonus)
- ATK: 2,200–2,600+
- SPD: 134+ with Sunday 1 SPD slower, or base SPD with Sparkle
- CRIT: the best ratio you can get while keeping Effect Hit Rate
Talent priority
Same Trace priority as the support build. The DPS build shines most from E4, where Weightless also cuts All-Type RES by 30%.
Recommended teams
Himeko • Nova with Sunday
His most played team: Welt puts Himeko • Nova in Decimation, and her constant Assist Skills stack his delays and his Retribution DMG buff.
Nihility core
Welt and Mortenax Blade stack massive DEF reduction and Ultimate DMG bonuses, and Mortenax's frequent AoE hits keep the delays rolling.
Welt main DPS
Sparkle advances him and feeds Skill Points, Tribbie adds RES PEN, and Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae shields and buffs his ATK.
How to play
How he works
- Synthetic Black Hole (Ultimate, 120 Energy). An AoE attack with a 100% base chance to Imprison for 1 turn (12% action delay, −10% SPD), then Weightless on every enemy for 2 turns, with no hit chance involved. Every hit on a Weightless enemy delays it by 4% (up to 8 times per target per turn).
- Time Distortion (Talent). Weightless enemies have −40% DEF and −5% SPD. Whenever Welt hits a Slowed enemy, including a Weightless one, he adds Imaginary Additional DMG equal to 100% of his ATK.
- Edge of the Void (Skill). 5 bounces of 72% ATK, each with a 75% base chance to Slow; every bounce that lands on a Slowed enemy also triggers his Talent's Additional DMG.
- Retribution (A2). Allies who attack Weightless enemies gain +10% DMG per attack (up to 10 stacks, 2 turns). Welt also starts combat with 30 Energy.
- Judgment (A4). His Basic ATK and Skill add one more instance of Additional DMG.
- Punishment (A6). Every 10% Effect Hit Rate above 40% grants +20% ATK (up to +80% at 80%), and his Ultimate refunds 5 Energy.
Rotation
- Use his Technique: enemies caught in its Special Dimension start the fight Imprisoned.
- Use his Ultimate early (he starts with 30 Energy), then recast it before Weightless expires: timing it is the whole game.
- Use his Skill in between to Slow, delay and stack Retribution; switch to Basic ATKs when Skill Points run low.
Tips
- SPD is disproportionately important: the faster he and his team act, the more delays pile up and the easier it is to keep Weightless active.
- His Minor Traces give 28% Effect Hit Rate instead of ATK, so reaching 80% for Punishment is realistic.
- Save his Ultimate to push back an enemy about to unleash a dangerous attack or an extra action.
- He is hard to play well: poorly timed delays can shift the turn order against you.
Strengths
- Extremely versatile: debuffer, pseudo-sustain or main DPS
- Huge amounts of action delay and Slow
- Big AoE DEF reduction that can't be resisted
- Up to +100% DMG for allies attacking Weightless enemies
- Standard 5★ with excellent Eidolons
Weaknesses
- Very hard to play properly: Ultimate timing is critical
- Hungry for Skill Points and Energy
- Badly timed delays can backfire
- Needs a lot of stat investment
Notable dupes · Eidolon
His Skill and Ultimate add an extra hit of 40% of the Ultimate's multiplier (60% ATK) to Weightless targets.
3 Energy each time his Talent triggers (up to 15 per Skill against Slowed enemies): it solves his Energy issues.
His strongest Eidolon: Weightless enemies also lose 30% All-Type RES, around +30% damage for the whole team.
+30% CRIT Rate and +60% CRIT DMG on his Skill and Ultimate against Slowed enemies; Prydwen notes it doesn't seem to apply to his Talent's Additional DMG.
