Wriothesley
Emissary of Solitary Iniquity
The Duke of the Fortress of Meropide is back at the top thanks to his Stellar-Conduct upgrade. Inside a Polestar Field he enters Radiance: Stellar-Conduct, and the 3rd and 5th hits of his Chilling Penalty combo, plus his Luster: Vaulting Fist, deal direct Stellar-Conduct DMG that can CRIT. Paired with Odette and an off-field Electro unit, he is one of the strongest on-field DPS of version 7.1.

Main stats
Substat priority
Stat targets
- CRIT Rate 55–65% on the stat screen with Disenchantment (+16% in combat), 40–50% with Marechaussee Hunter (+36% from stacks)
- CRIT DMG 180%+
- ATK 2,000+
- Elemental Mastery is a welcome bonus
- Energy Recharge 100% is enough: his Burst is rarely used
Talent priority
Use an ATK% goblet, not Cryo DMG: the hits that convert to Stellar-Conduct DMG do not benefit from Cryo DMG Bonus (nor from Shenhe's Icy Quills). Older Cryo-goblet builds lose a lot of value once he is played in Stellar-Conduct teams.
Recommended teams
Premium Stellar-Conduct
His best team: Odette enables Stellar-Conduct and buffs Stellar Glimmer DMG, Yae Miko applies Electro and deals big off-field damage (C1 Yae adds a lot), and Nicole shields and buffs ATK without messing with his HP.
Stellar-Conduct with Beidou
No Yae Miko: C6 Beidou brings Electro, damage reduction and RES shred (build her with lots of ER), and Escoffier adds Cryo RES shred. Do not use Escoffier's Burst.
Stellar-Conduct without Odette
The free Cryo Traveler can also enable Stellar-Conduct, at around three quarters of the premium team's damage.
How to play
How he works
- Icefang Rush (Skill) puts him in Chilling Penalty for 10s: while his HP is above 50%, his Repelling Fists (Normal Attacks) are enhanced and each hit drains a little HP.
- There Shall Be a Reckoning for Sin: every HP change during Chilling Penalty grants a Prosecution Edict stack (+6% ATK, up to 5 stacks).
- There Shall Be an Unveiling for Injustice (his 7.x upgrade): whenever Stellar-Conduct is triggered, the area becomes a Polestar Field; standing in it puts him in Radiance: Stellar-Conduct. Below 60% HP he then gets Luster: Vaulting Fist, a free Charged Attack that heals him for 30% Max HP (once every 2s). His enhanced 3rd and 5th Normal Attacks and this Charged Attack deal Stellar-Conduct DMG, and he deals 30% more of it.
- Direct Stellar-Conduct DMG ignores DEF and scales with ATK, Elemental Mastery and reaction bonuses, but not with Cryo DMG Bonus or Normal/Charged Attack DMG%. It can CRIT, so CRIT stays essential.
- The Polestar Field also stores Electro and Cryo applications and releases them as a team-wide Electro/Cryo DMG buff and a higher base multiplier for direct Stellar-Conduct DMG.
Rotation
- Set up your team: Nicole's Skill, Yae Miko's triple Skill, then Odette's double Skill (Solo Dance Double + Coda).
- Swap to Wriothesley and press E.
- C0 loop:
E 2[N5 C dash] N5 dash N2 C dash. Chain full 5-hit strings; whenever you are under 60% HP, finish with the Charged Attack and dash-cancel it. - His Burst is mostly skipped in Stellar-Conduct teams: it does not deal Stellar-Conduct DMG.
His Skill and dashes do not reset the Normal Attack counter, so
N1 E N2…or a dash between hits keeps the combo going. Taking a hit from an enemy lets you reach 60% HP sooner, so a little incoming damage is not a problem.
Strengths
- Top-tier Stellar-Conduct damage, competitive with the newest carries
- Big personal gain from an accessible C1
- Built-in self-healing through Luster: Vaulting Fist
- Turns incoming damage and Bond of Life into extra value
Weaknesses
- Needs a Stellar-Conduct enabler (Odette or the Cryo Traveler) plus an off-field Electro unit
- Cannot run healers that must cast to contribute: they break his HP thresholds
- Adaptive HP management against aggressive enemies raises his skill ceiling
- Outside Stellar-Conduct teams his damage drops sharply
Notable dupes · Constellation
Luster: Vaulting Fist and his 5th hit buff each other by 50% and his Skill state lasts 4s longer: about +18% personal damage, the best stopping point.
At 5 Prosecution Edict stacks, his Stellar-Conduct hits deal much more (90%/120%/150% instead of 60%/80%/100%): a huge jump.
In Radiance: 25% damage reduction, +20% ATK SPD for him and +10% for the team. Pleasant, but small.
+10% CRIT Rate and +80% CRIT DMG on his enhanced hits, plus extra Stellar-Conduct icicles. Massive, but only for whales.
