Anemo
Bow
Venti
Windborne Bard
The Anemo Archon is still the best crowd-controller in the game: his Stormeye pulls whole packs together and refunds Energy to teammates of the absorbed element. Since the Witch's Homework update, Venti is also a Hexerei character, and with a second Hexerei teammate his Normal Attacks become piercing Windsunder Arrows during his Burst, turning him into a genuine on-field Anemo DPS.

Substat priority
Stat targets
- Energy Recharge 135–165% as the only Anemo unit, 125–145% with another Anemo, about 100–105% with C6 Faruzan
- CRIT Rate 60–70% (A Day Carved adds 20% in combat)
- CRIT DMG 150%+
- Elemental Mastery is not needed in this role
Talent priority
Windsunder Arrows only exist while Hexerei: Secret Rite is active: finish his Witch's Homework and bring a second Hexerei character (Durin is the usual pick, but Fischl, Mona, Albedo, Sucrose or Nicole also work). His C6 adds 100% CRIT DMG against enemies hit by his Burst and roughly doubles this build's damage.

Substat priority
Stat targets
- Energy Recharge 175–210% as the only Anemo unit with one Skill per rotation, 125–160% with other Anemo teammates
- Elemental Mastery 600–800+ for Swirl-focused teams
- Go ATK% / Anemo DMG / CRIT instead when the team barely reacts
Talent priority
In this role Venti mostly brings grouping, Viridescent shred and Energy. Level him to 90 before his talents if you build Elemental Mastery, as Swirl DMG scales with character level.
Recommended teams
Hexerei hypercarry Venti
Durin activates Secret Rite and shreds RES, Faruzan buffs Anemo DMG and batteries Venti, Bennett adds ATK and Pyro to swirl.
Varka Hexerei (Venti support)
Budget Pyro Varka team: Venti groups enemies and gives Varka +50% DMG through Secret Rite; Prune remains the stronger fourth slot on single targets.
Ayaka Freeze
The classic Freeze core: Venti groups frozen enemies into Ayaka's Burst and swirls Cryo for extra shred.
How to play
How he works
- Wind's Grand Ode (Burst, 60 Energy) creates the Stormeye, which pulls enemies in for 8s and absorbs Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro. His Stormeye passive refunds 15 Energy to Venti and 15 to every teammate of the absorbed element.
- Skyward Sonnet (Skill): tap to launch enemies, hold to launch a larger area and ride an upcurrent into the air.
- Hexerei (unlock it with the Witch's Homework quest Of the Waking of Wind, Venti Lv. 70+): with at least two Hexerei characters in the party, Hexerei: Secret Rite is active. While the Stormeye is up, his Normal Attacks become Windsunder Arrows that pierce enemies and deal much more Anemo DMG; each hit extends the Stormeye by 1s (twice per Burst, so up to 10s). For 4s after the active character triggers a Swirl or Stellar Swirl near the Stormeye, their DMG is increased by 50% and the Stormeye deals 135% of its DMG.
Rotation (Hexerei on-field DPS)
- Set up your supports: Durin, Bennett and Faruzan (or Furina) Skills and Bursts.
- Swap to Venti, tap E, then Q.
- Fire Normal Attacks for the whole Stormeye duration: the first two hits extend it to 10s.
- At C2, the Burst resets his Skill and grants Wherever a Breeze Blows: tap E again for a 300% Skyward Sonnet.
Rotation (support / grouping)
- Tap or hold E, then Q before your main DPS, ideally after an off-field teammate has applied the element you want him to absorb.
- Swap out and let the Stormeye group enemies for your carry.
The Stormeye cannot lift bosses or heavy enemies, and floating enemies can be out of reach for some melee carries: use him where grouping actually helps.
Strengths
- Unmatched grouping and crowd control against light enemies
- Refunds Energy to teammates of the absorbed element
- Hexerei turns him into a real on-field Anemo DPS with piercing, AoE arrows
- Fully functional at C0, and fantastic for exploration
Weaknesses
- The Stormeye does nothing to bosses and heavy enemies
- His DPS mode needs a second Hexerei character and the Witch's Homework quest
- Lifted enemies can be hard to hit for some melee teammates
- Solo Anemo support builds need a lot of Energy Recharge
Notable dupes · Constellation
With Hexerei, every Windsunder Arrow fires two extra tracking arrows: a solid gain for his DPS mode.
Hexerei version: 24% Anemo and Physical RES shred, a Skill reset after his Burst and 300% Skyward Sonnet casts. The best stopping point for DPS Venti.
With Hexerei, 25% Anemo DMG Bonus for Venti and the active character after his Skill or Burst.
20% extra RES shred and, with Hexerei, +100% CRIT DMG on enemies hit by his Burst: it roughly doubles on-field Venti's damage.
