Unlocked in Liyue, the Geo Traveler is a quickswap Geo nuker. Their Skill drops a meteorite and their Burst sends out shockwaves surrounded by a stone wall, both counting as Geo Constructs. Simple to play and fully free, but their damage and utility have fallen far behind modern Geo units, so they are mostly a stopgap for Mono Geo teams.

How to play

How they work

  • Starfell Sword (Skill, 6s CD with Shattered Darkrock) summons a meteorite that deals AoE Geo DMG. The meteorite is a Geo Construct: you can climb it or use it to block attacks. Hold to choose where it lands.
  • Wake of Earth (Burst, 60 Energy) releases several AoE Geo shockwaves and raises a stone wall around them (another Geo Construct).
  • Frenzied Rockslide: the last Normal Attack hit triggers a collapse for 60% ATK as AoE Geo DMG.
  • Foreign Adamantine: whenever a party member gains or replaces a shield, or a Geo Construct is created, the Traveler gains a Blade of Archaic Petra (1 per second, max 3). At 3, the next Charged Attack becomes Rockfell: +120% ATK as Geo DMG per hit, and +20% Shield Strength for the party for 15s (15s cooldown).

Rotation

  1. Q first, so the party fights inside the wall (and gets +10% CRIT Rate at C1).
  2. E: the meteorite and the wall already give 2 Blades of Archaic Petra; a shield or Zhongli's Stone Stele completes the third.
  3. Charged Attack: Rockfell, then swap to your carry. Recast E whenever it is ready.

Geo Constructs also trigger other kits: for example, a construct created near Chiori summons her extra Tamoto automaton.

Strengths

  • Very simple quickswap kit with short cooldowns
  • Geo Constructs for exploration, blocking attacks and synergies like Chiori's
  • Free, with free constellations (C1 CRIT Rate buff, C4 Energy)
  • Rockfell adds a party Shield Strength buff

Weaknesses

  • Low damage compared with any modern Geo unit
  • Burst shockwaves are hard to land on mobile or airborne enemies
  • The stone wall can trap your own melee characters or block your line of sight
  • No party buff outside of C1
