Born with an overwhelming excess of yang energy, this young exorcist fights with ice. His Skill creates a frost field that gives Cryo infusion and extra ATK SPD to melee teammates, and his cheap 40-Energy Burst drops three spirit blades for solid AoE Cryo damage. A niche quickswap Burst unit today, he still has a place in Freeze, Mono Cryo and Melt teams on a budget.

Chongyun's C2 shortens Ayaka's cooldowns in his field; Xingqiu keeps enemies Frozen and Jean shreds Cryo RES.
Reverse Melt
All 4-stars: Xiangling's Pyronado provides the Pyro aura for the Cryo characters' Melt hits.
Freeze with Shenhe
Chongyun as the quickswap Cryo damage dealer: Shenhe boosts every Cryo hit, Xingqiu keeps enemies Frozen and Kazuha groups them and adds Cryo DMG.
How to play
How he works
- Spirit Blade: Chonghua's Layered Frost (Skill) deals AoE Cryo DMG and leaves a frost field: Sword, Claymore and Polearm users inside get Cryo infusion and +8% Normal Attack SPD (Steady Breathing).
- When the field ends, Rimechaser Blade drops another blade (100% of the Skill DMG) and cuts Cryo RES by 10% for 8s.
- Spirit Blade: Cloud-Parting Star (Burst, 40 Energy) summons 3 blades (4 at C6) that deal heavy AoE Cryo DMG.
Rotation
- E, then Q inside the field (with C2, both cooldowns are 15% shorter).
- Swap to your main DPS. In Melt teams, time his Burst after the Pyro application so the blades Melt.
- Come back for E Q each rotation: his short cooldowns fit quick 12–15s rotations.
His Cryo infusion overrides Physical attacks: do not pair him with Physical carries, and remember that self-infusions (Diluc's Burst, Ayaka's dash) take priority over his.
Strengths
- Cheap 40-Energy Burst with good AoE Cryo damage
- Cryo infusion and ATK SPD for melee teammates
- 10% Cryo RES shred from his A4 passive
- Very accessible 4-star, easy to fit into quick rotations
Weaknesses
- Low damage by current standards
- Small Skill field that stays in place
- His infusion can ruin Physical or other-element melee teammates
- No kit update from Witch's Revelation or the Stellar reactions
