The Herta

The Herta is an Ice Erudition damage dealer built around Interpretation, stacks that every ally attack piles onto enemies. Her Ultimate gives her an immediate action and Inspiration, which turns her Skill into Hear Me Out, a huge AoE attack that scales with the Interpretation on its main target. With a second Erudition character, she gives the whole team 80% CRIT DMG and stacks Interpretation much faster, so she is always played in double Erudition teams — ideally with Anaxa.

Recommended teams
Double Erudition
Her best team on both sites: Anaxa's double Skills hit all enemies and flood her with Energy and stacks while implanting Ice Weakness, Tribbie's RES PEN and DMG taken are multipliers she otherwise lacks, and Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae's Souldragon adds more AoE hits.
With Himeko • Nova
Himeko • Nova is a newer Erudition partner that activates all of The Herta's team buffs.

Free-to-play option: Serval fulfils the Erudition requirement, the Trailblazer (Remembrance) buffs her, and Lynx heals.
How to play
How she works
- Interpretation (Talent). Up to 42 stacks per enemy. Enemies get 1 stack when they enter combat, and at the start of each wave, one enemy (Elites first) receives 25 stacks.
- Aloofly Honest (A2). Every ally attack adds 1 Interpretation stack to each enemy hit, and The Herta regains 3 Energy per target hit (up to 5). Hear Me Out deals 50% more Ice DMG if its main target has 42 stacks.
- Message From Beyond the Veil (A4). With 2+ Erudition characters: all allies gain 80% CRIT DMG, Aloofly Honest counts at least 3 targets, and after each attack the enemy with the most stacks gets 1 more (3 if the attacker follows Erudition).
- Ultimate (220 Energy). Moves the highest Interpretation stacks onto Elite enemies, deals AoE DMG, raises her ATK by 80% for 3 turns, then she acts immediately with 1 Inspiration (up to 4). Her A6 adds 1% to the Ultimate's multiplier for every Interpretation stack she has applied (up to 99).
- Hear Me Out (Enhanced Skill). Consumes 1 Inspiration: repeated Blast hits plus an AoE hit, with a bonus multiplier per Interpretation stack on the main target (doubled with 2+ Erudition characters). The main target's stacks are then reset to 1.
Rotation
- Use her Technique for +60% ATK during the first 2 turns.
- Use her Skill to hit enemies and build Energy while your team stacks Interpretation.
- Ultimate → immediate turn → Hear Me Out on the target with 42 stacks, usually the boss or an Elite.
Tips
- She needs a second Erudition character: Anaxa is the best, Himeko • Nova and Jade are strong too, and Serval or Herta work on a budget.
- The more enemies, the more Energy and stacks she gets: she excels in Pure Fiction.
- Without her signature, Skill Points are tight in double DPS teams.
Strengths
- Great damage spread: AoE with a focus on the main target
- Good Energy economy despite a 220 Energy Ultimate
- Personal 100% action advance on her Ultimate
- Works with most Erudition partners, 4★ included
- Scales well with buffs thanks to her own multipliers
Weaknesses
- Slow ramp-up when there aren't many enemies to hit
- Requires a second Erudition character to reach her potential
- Skill Point hungry in double DPS teams without her signature

Hear Me Out also counts 50% of the stacks of the most-stacked enemy among its main target and adjacent enemies, and resets stacks to 15 instead of 1.
An extra Inspiration on entering combat and after each Ultimate, and a 35% action advance after Hear Me Out: the best stopping point.
20% Ice RES PEN, and her Ultimate multiplier rises by 140% to 400% depending on the number of enemies (higher with fewer).
