Billy
Self-aware AI construct
Billy Kid is a free A-Rank Physical Attack Agent and one of the few ranged damage dealers in the game. He hits the whole area while moving, gets +50% DMG from his Crouching Shot state and stacks huge Ultimate bonuses with his Chain Attacks. He has aged badly compared to recent DPS, but a well-played Billy with Dialyn still clears content. Rankings differ a lot: Prydwen puts him at T2 (at M6), Game8 in its lowest tier.

Disc 5: Prydwen prefers PEN Ratio, Game8 Physical DMG; both are fine. Avoid PEN Ratio if Nicole's DEF Shred is already in the team.
Recommended teams
Physical: Dialyn & Sunna
Dialyn is by far his best Stunner: she's Physical, extends Stuns and converts Chain Attacks into Ultimates. Sunna's Cat's Gaze uses his stats, including the Crouching bonus. Swap Sunna for Astra Yao if needed. Bangboo: Bangvolver (2+ Physical Agents).
Dialyn & Nicole
Game8's premium team. Nicole shares his faction and her DEF Shred lands during Dialyn's long Stuns. Bangboo: Amillion (2+ Cunning Hares) or Bagboo.
How to play
Crouching Shot
- Hold (or mash) Basic Attack: Standing Fire → Rolling Shot → Crouching Shot. Once he's crouching, every attack he uses gets +50% DMG (Core Passive at max level), including EX Specials and his Ultimate.
- The state ends if he walks normally, uses the Finishing Shot, gets knocked back or is swapped out. Chain Attacks therefore never benefit from it: crouch again before your EX Specials and Ultimate.
- If he's crouching when he uses his Ultimate, the game keeps him in that state afterwards even though he stands up visually: Standing Shot + Dash Attack loops then keep the bonus.
Moving while crouched
- Crouching Fire itself is weak. His real damage comes from Rolling Shot → 360° Dash Attack loops (hold Basic → tilt the stick → Dodge → hold Basic again) and from Dodge Counters.
- Any attack (Rolling Shot, Special, Dash Attack) re-aims him if the target moves.
- Watch the distance fall-off: don't stand too far from enemies.
Burst
- Additional Ability (a teammate sharing his Physical attribute or the Cunning Hares faction): each Chain Attack gives +50% DMG to his next Ultimate, up to 2 stacks. Aim for 2 Chains before each Ultimate.
- Typical Stun combo: Chain → Chain → crouch → EX Special → Ultimate → Dash Attack loops → EX Special.
Billy has no fixed rotation: react to enemy attacks with Dodge Counters (Rolling Shots can Perfect Dodge at M2) and keep moving.
Strengths
- Free: he's the second Agent you get in the story.
- Very mobile ranged playstyle that can hit enemies all around him.
- Easy to pick up, with a lot of room for optimization.
- Easy to build: almost every generic Attack W-Engine works on him.
Weaknesses
- Far weaker than recent limited damage dealers.
- His Additional Ability needs a Physical or Cunning Hares teammate, which limits his teams.
- No clear-cut combos: he demands good knowledge of each fight to perform.
- Crouching Shot roots him in place, and ranged attacks lose damage at long distance.
