Banyue Shifu, Martial Arts Master of Waifei
Banyue is a Fire Rupture Agent with a fighting-game kit: two Basic Attack strings, four EX Specials called with button sequences, an on-field parry and cancels. He builds Wrathful Fires to enter his Visage of Wrath state, where EX Specials become free, then finishes with two huge enhanced Basic Attacks. He's easy to get going with the auto combo but very demanding to master, and he's at his best with Dialyn and Lucia.

Recommended teams
Best: Dialyn & Lucia
His most used team and both sources' first choice. Dialyn's Ultimate conversion and Stun extension allow double Chain + double Ultimate combos, and Lucia boosts his HP and Sheer Force. Bangboo: Birkblick (two Krampus Agents).
Fire Stunner: Norma & Lucia
Norma is his second most used Stunner, and shares his Fire attribute. Bangboo: Birkblick, whose Additional Ability needs at least 3 copies with Banyue as the only Krampus Agent.
How to play
Basics and EX Specials
There's no regular Special: the Special button starts a second Basic string, Majestic Summit. Pressing the opposite button during a string gives an EX Special (20 Adrenaline; B = Basic, S = Special):
- Lion's Roar: BS or BBS
- Earth Shaker: BBBS or BBBBS (his best EX out of Stun)
- Mountain Tremor: SB or SSB
- One's Path: SSSB or SSSSB
During another skill (Chain Attack, Ultimate, Assist, EX Special...) you can also input BBS / SSB / BSB / SBS to go straight into those EX Specials. Inputting one during an EX Special cancels it: past its Perfect Cancel point, the cancelled move still deals full damage. Earth Shaker → SSB gives Mountain Tremor - Wrath, and One's Path → BBS gives Lion's Roar - Wrath (40 Adrenaline, much stronger).
Wrathful Fires and Visage of Wrath
- He gains Wrathful Fires (max 150) from spent Adrenaline (0.5 per point), Perfect Dodges, Defensive Assists and his on-field parry Dodge: Immovable Mountain (press Dodge with no direction mid-attack: 4 points, 6 on a Perfect Block).
- At 120, his Chain Attack, Ultimate or Immolate put him in Visage of Wrath with 4 Mountain's Might: each EX Special spends one instead of Adrenaline and refunds 10 Adrenaline.
- Hold Basic to end the state with Toppling Mountain (preceded by Crushing Peaks if you used two different EX Specials via inputs). Holding Special instead runs an auto combo: four EX Specials, then Toppling Mountain (it needs manual Chain Attacks and doesn't use Perfect Cancels, so quick inputs are better).
- Any EX Special or Assist Follow-Up gives him Sheer Force +300, Fire DMG +36% and CRIT DMG +36% for 30s.
Stun combo (quick inputs)
Chain Attack (buffer BSB) → Earth Shaker → Mountain Tremor - Wrath (SSB) → swap for the next Chain → Chain Attack (buffer SBS) → One's Path → Lion's Roar - Wrath (BBS) → Crushing Peaks → Toppling Mountain → Ultimate.
Tips
- Before the fight, use Inflame but stop just short of 120 (at 120 he enters Visage of Wrath right away and stops gaining Wrathful Fires until he leaves it), then rush the first Stun.
- Out of Stun, farm Wrathful Fires with Perfect Dodge + Immovable Mountain, and time stuns for when he's at 120.
- With Dialyn, replace a Chain Attack with her Ultimate conversion for double Chain + double Ultimate combos.
Strengths
- Accessible skill floor thanks to his auto combo, with a very high skill ceiling that rewards practice.
- One of the most unique kits in the game: on-field parry, motion inputs, cancels and varied combos.
- His signature W-Engine makes CRIT easy to build and needs no upkeep.
- Pairs naturally with fellow Krampus Agent Dialyn.
Weaknesses
- Demands a high level of execution to reach his full potential.
- Lower performance than the top Rupture DPS: Prydwen doesn't see any encounter where he's the best pick.
- Expensive to build, since all his skills matter.
- Relies heavily on his signature W-Engine for meta relevance.
Notable dupes · Mindscape Cinema
One's Path and Earth Shaker reduce Fire RES by 10%, his other big hits deal +10% Sheer DMG to those targets, and Crushing Peaks extends Stun by 2s (doesn't stack with Dialyn's extension). Game8's top Mindscape.
Core Passive CRIT DMG and Fire DMG bonuses +15% each, plus extra Adrenaline in Visage of Wrath.
Vidyaraja from every EX Special, stronger and lasting 30s, and Crushing Peaks adds a big AoE hit.
