Release1.8

Valkyrie Triumph is Murata Himeko's A-rank BIO-type greatsword battlesuit. Her Ultimate creates a Blade Field that slows enemies, boosts Physical DMG inside it and heals the team, and in HoYoverse's old guide she was mainly a Blood Dance holder who makes enemies take more Elemental DMG. Even that guide rated her deployment rate as low and advised against heavy investment. With no Astral Ring she is obsolete in 9.0; she was offered again in the Returnee Support's Valkyrie Reinforcements in v8.9 and v9.0.

Weapons

Blood Dance BiS
A
The weapon of every build in both HoYoverse's guide and the BBS: its blood tornado makes enemies take 60% more Elemental DMG for 9s (they also attack twice as fast). Supply or Reserve Works.
The active (20 SP) whips up a blood tornado (9 x 35% ATK of Physical DMG) that sends enemies into Blood Rage for 9s: they attack twice as fast but take 60% more Elemental DMG; +30% Physical DMG above 15 combo hits, and off-field healing below 50% HP.
Vanguard
B
HoYoverse's beginner pick: a cheap Foundry greatsword with a launching shockwave.
Basic greatsword craftable in the Foundry: the active (3 SP, CD: 8s) is a downward cleave whose shockwave launches enemies for 450% ATK of Physical DMG.
King Cobra
B
Budget filler, not named by either guide: a cheap Foundry greatsword whose starting SP (up to +20 at 4★) helps her reach her 125-SP Ultimate sooner. Only if you do not have Blood Dance yet.
Basic greatsword craftable in the Foundry: +20 initial SP when entering battle (12 at 3★).

Stigmata

Turgenev T Top
Beach Party M Middle
Turgenev B Bottom
HoYoverse's main support set: Turgenev's 2-piece keeps a long Elemental Vulnerability mark on enemies and buffs the team, and Mei: Beach Party (M) makes a single enemy take more Total DMG.
Set effects
2pRebel's Gun set. Every 6 hits from the wearer or her summons extend Hunter Mark (applied by the B piece) by 2s, up to 12s; marked enemies take 21% more Elemental DMG.
3pThe wearer's Ultimate and summons deal 25% more Total DMG; while her summons are on the field, the team deals 25% more Ice DMG to marked enemies.
2pAttacks have a 12% chance to summon HOMU King, who knocks enemies down for 450% ATK of Physical DMG (CD: 16s).
3pWhen HOMU King appears, every ally gets a Flame Wreath that burns nearby enemies for 6s.
Turgenev T Top
Avogadro M Middle
Turgenev B Bottom
BBS variant: Avogadro (M) shortens the weapon active's CD and gives the team Total DMG after it.
2p30 initial SP and weapon skills cost 15% less SP (M piece: weapon skill CD -30% and the team gains 10% Total DMG for 12s after it).
3pTotal DMG +15%; the weapon skill marks its target, which explodes after 10s, and marked enemies take 15% more Total DMG from the wearer.
Critic T Top
Critic M Middle
Isaac Newton B Bottom
Alternative from both sources: the Jin Shengtan field (+30% Elemental DMG for allies) with Isaac Newton (B).
Set effects
2pJin Shengtan set. Attacks create a Blue Phoenix field (6s, CD: 9s): allies inside deal 30% more Elemental DMG and enemies inside take 10% more Elemental DMG.
3pThe field lasts 3s longer and protects allies against Ice; weak hits no longer interrupt the wearer.
2pLaws of Motion set. Total DMG +10%; Basic, Combo and Charged ATKs have a 10% chance to slow, impair or weaken enemies for 10s, or to inflict 3 Trauma (CD: 2s).
3pEvery second, Basic ATKs (Combo and Charged ATKs included) gain a 20% Total DMG Multiplier (5 stacks max); attacking consumes the buff and starts a 7s cooldown.
Ryunosuke Akutagawa T Top
Ryunosuke Akutagawa M Middle
Ryunosuke Akutagawa B Bottom
HoYoverse's beginner set for melee Physical battlesuits: a barrier and melee damage bonuses.
Set effects
2pA barrier worth 15% of max HP when entering battle; +40% Crit DMG while it holds.
3pMelee attacks +20% Total DMG.

Marisa Impact notes Blood Dance was prized because it applies an elemental debuff very quickly; any other greatsword user can hold it too. For current content, use a modern support.

HoYoverse guide elemental line-up

The line-up from HoYoverse's official guide: Valkyrie Triumph applies Blood Dance's Elemental Vulnerability for Azure Empyrea and Goushinnso Memento. Part 1 content only.

Freeze and QTE (old content)

Snowy Sniper freezes enemies, which triggers Valkyrie Triumph's QTE (from S rank) and her +50% Crit DMG against frozen enemies, while Blood Dance helps the Ice DPS. A budget option for older content only.

How to play

Core kit

  • Basic ATK (Charge: Heavy Sword): a 3-hit Zweihänder combo; each hit can be charged. Charged ATKs gain Ignore Interrupt, take 64% less Physical DMG (Perseverance) and gain 21% Crit Rate (Critical Cleave).
  • Special ATK (Valkyrie Charge): tap [ATK] while sprinting for a jumping cleave (450% ATK of Physical DMG). Switch entry unleashes a horizontal slash (Mutilate).
  • Ultimate (Blade Field): 125 SP, an 8s sword-rain enchant that Time Slows enemies inside, then shatters for 800% ATK of Physical DMG. Enemies in it take 50% more Physical DMG (Shattering Field), and from S rank it heals the team for each enemy inside.
  • Evasion (Shock Wave): a double sidestep; the Ultimate Evasion chains into Charged ATK SEQ 1 and leaves a stunning shockwave (Wave Blast).

Key mechanics

  • By Victory: +50% Crit DMG against frozen and stunned enemies.
  • Her QTE (Mittelhau - Zorn, from S rank) triggers on frozen enemies: a powerful 800% ATK slash.
  • Iron Wall (SS): when she switches out, the team gains Ignore Interrupt and +70% DEF for 4s.
  • Leader skill (Triumph): the team deals 15% more Physical DMG above 80% HP (30% from S rank), and BIO-type battlesuits gain DEF.

How HoYoverse used her

  • Swap in, cast Blood Dance's active (enemies take up to 60% more Elemental DMG for 9s), let the stigmata debuffs apply (Turgenev's Hunter Mark or Jin Shengtan's field), then swap back to your elemental DPS.

Strengths

  • Blood Dance holder: a quick, long Elemental DMG debuff for elemental teams (HoYoverse's guide).
  • Blade Field slows enemies, boosts Physical DMG and heals the team.
  • Tanky Charged ATKs with Ignore Interrupt and damage reduction.
  • Easy to get: a Dorm Supply A-rank, and a Valkyrie Reinforcements option for returnees in v8.9-v9.0.

Weaknesses

  • Obsolete in 9.0: no Astral Ring, and HoYoverse's guide already rated her deployment rate as low.
  • Almost no personal damage; her value came from her weapon's debuff.
  • Her QTE needs frozen enemies and only unlocks at S rank.
  • No augment core to grow into.
