Darkbolt Jonin
Yae Sakura
Darkbolt Jonin is Sakura's A-rank BIO-type Lightning katana user from v3.6 and the game's first SP battlesuit, with an extra skill tree that unlocks at S, SS and SSS rank. She marks enemies with kunai, spends Zakti on rapid Naraka Finishers, summons Rakshamaru with her two-part Ultimate and triggers a Global Time Fracture with her evasion. She was a powerful Lightning DPS for her time, but she has no Astral Ring and is obsolete in 9.0: a free, fun pick for older content and the Elysian Realm.

Talent priority
Where to get her: Asterite Shop and Open World (Marisa Impact). In the Elysian Realm, Marisa Impact warns that she is an old A-rank with weak signets: play a lower difficulty.

Part 1 Lightning supports
The same supports as Herrscher of Thunder's 2020 team: Azure Empyrea adds Lightning vulnerability and Elemental Breach, Fallen Rosemary adds Lightning buffs. Herrscher of Thunder makes much better use of them; old content only.
All-free trio
Three free battlesuits: Azure Empyrea's Ultimate gathers enemies and adds Lightning vulnerability, and Valkyrie Blastmetal's Total DMG buffs work even without an Astral Ring. A starter option for older content.
How to play
Zakti and Naraka Finisher
- Zakti goes from 0 to 500 and regenerates 10 per second; her Basic ATK (Garyu Stance) refills it, and SEQ 3 and 4 also restore SP.
- Hold [ATK] during Basic ATK or evasion to spend 100 Zakti on a Naraka Finisher: fast, repeatable Lightning slashes that restore 1.4 SP per hit and stack up to +72% Finisher DMG.
Darkbolt Pursuit (SP skill)
- When a light circle appears on her, tap [ATK] to throw kunai that apply Darkbolt Marks for 30s: she deals 30% more Total DMG to marked enemies. Right after, tap [ATK] for a Jonin Finisher or hold it for a Naraka Finisher.
- Her QTE and Rakshamaru's first strike also apply marks.
Ultimate: Raksha's Rage
- For 100 SP (CD 20s) she summons Rakshamaru, who smites a large area, refills 400 Zakti and, from S rank, makes the target take 40% more Lightning DMG for 12s.
- Tap [ULT] again within 12s (0 SP) for Samsara of Death: two volleys of heavy Lightning hits, 10 Paralyze Trauma, and 40% DMG Reduction for 12s.
Raijin's Blink
- Ultimate Evasion leaves a Lightning shadow that pulls enemies in and explodes after 3s into a 3s Global Time Fracture (CD 15s, 11s with Fusuikami's Bliss).
- She then turns invisible for 5s and can sprint: tap [ATK] while sprinting for a Jonin Finisher (+60 Zakti and 3 SP on hit).
Rotation
- Mark the target with Darkbolt Pursuit (or her QTE, which triggers on ignited enemies) and Basic ATK to fill Zakti.
- Cast Raksha's Rage, follow up with Samsara of Death, then chain Naraka Finishers until Zakti runs out.
- Trigger Raijin's Blink for the Time Fracture, refill with Jonin Finishers and Basic ATK, and repeat.
Leader skill: the team deals 23% more Lightning DMG and 13% more Total DMG (30% and 15% from S rank).
Strengths
- Free: Asterite Shop and Open World (Marisa Impact).
- Global Time Fracture on a short cooldown, heavy Paralyze Trauma and 40% DMG Reduction during her Ultimate.
- Strong team Lightning leader skill and a 40% Lightning vulnerability from S rank.
- Fast, satisfying gameplay with a unique SP skill tree.
Weaknesses
- Obsolete in 9.0: an outdated Part 1 Lightning DPS with no Astral Ring.
- An A-rank that needs S rank for most of her key sub-skills (Sura's Retribution, Conductive, Biting Ember).
- Her QTE only triggers on ignited enemies, which is awkward in Lightning teams.
- Marisa Impact recommends farming Valkyrie Blastmetal and Elysian Realm A-ranks before her.

Unlocks Sura's Retribution (+50% ATK of Lightning DMG per Naraka Finisher hit), Conductive (+40% Lightning DMG taken), Endless Desire, Wakaikami's Vigor, the SP skill Biting Ember (+20% Total DMG) and her full leader skill.
Lingering Light: Naraka Finishers get more range and ATK Speed and each one calls a lightning bolt (220% ATK of Lightning DMG).
Jonin's Lantern: Zakti starts at 400 and caps at 600.
